Subject: Crochet

Comment: I am only ten, but my mother has brought me far on crocheting. I know chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet! I can also read patterns like a child's book! But I was missing something important in my crocheting, and this site helped me fix it!

Subject: crocheting

Comment: Even though I'm only 12 I am a fairly good crocheter, the thing that I thought was the hardest was that I taught myself to crochet. My mom knows how but she wouldn't teach me! So I took maders into my own hands and learned. Now I'm teaching her!!!

Subject: Still Learning

Comment: I just learned how to crochet two months ago, and have been frequently reffering to thise site ever since. My Grandmother tried to teach me when I was little, but it was too complicated for a five-year old to pick up. I'm still just learning, but this site has helped me come really far in the past few months!

Comment: I love to crochet my Grandmom taught me awhile ago and it was kind of a on off thing (just like all the other crafts I do) Then I was on this craft website and discovered anigurumi love at first sight. That was when I discovered I could read a pattern! then I discovered this sight sooo cool! BTW I am going to try to make one of those blankets where you just use all the yarn and change in the middle of rows! Thanks for all these tips! Oh and before I forget I am 12 and probably learned when I was about 8.

Subject: just crocheting

Comment: I have been crocheting since a stranger taught me in a waiting room over 30 years ago! Took a five minute lesson in single crochet that has lasted all this time. I quit smoking and lost weight by crocheting instead of sticking things in my mouth. The greatest pleasure has been teaching over 100 people to crochet in these years since I learned...Love the yarn and the final product and adore this site!

Subject: Newbie

Comment: I only learnt to crochet 2 weeks ago and have just finished my first project (a scarf). I'm housebound and was looking for a new hobby to try and curb my boredom. Two weeks and I'm already an addict!!! I was just looking for new patterns to try out and found this site, it's brilliant! I've already decided on my next challenge, a pair of fingerless gloves. Thank you so much!!!!

Subject: Patterns for customers

Comment: I've been crocheting for more than 40 years. Being left handed, I also had to teach myself to read the patterns backward. Several years ago, I had a customer who was looking for a particular pattern and I could not find it anywhere! That is, until I found this site. It's the best! I crochet for my 3 grandkids, too. Styles change, and fads come and go, but I can always find the perfect pattern here. There's always a great selection to choose from, and always new patterns being added. Thank you so much for having the greatest crochet pattern collection on the web!

Subject: Pokemon

Comment: When I was about 8 years old my Aunt taught me how to crochet. I was always amazed at watching how she would work that skinny thread into the most beautiful tablecloths. She did this as her job and even though she could not read or write, she crocheted the most beautiful designs into these tablecloths. Now I am a grandma and was looking through this wonderful website (thank you all so much for these patterns) with my grandbabies. When they saw the pokemon plushies they each made a list of ten that they want - lol. I think I have my work cut out for me - lol! I have made five so far and have fifteen more to go. They come out just beautiful and the instructions are so easy to follow. My neighbor came over to see what I was crocheting and when she saw the pokemon characters she couldn't believe how great they came - she gave me the nicest compliment and said they look professional - WOW - me making things that look so good really makes me feel great and keeps me busy during the winter when getting out isn't so easy. Thank you all again for being so generous and sharing all these wonderful patterns.

Subject: Wedding gift

Comment: For many years I watched my mother and my mother's mother crochet. My mom would always try and show me some little something or I'd ask but then get frustrated or bored. I guess as a teenager I thought it made me look old or something. At 21 I was engaged to a Marine and I wanted to give him a really special wedding gift. After thinking of many things I saw yarn that looked a lot like his uniform. I asked my mother once more to show me how to crochet and she was more than happy to. It took a long time to finish a blanket but I did it. The great thing is I left the last few stitches un-worked and on our wedding night I showed him what I did by finishing it. I would have never guessed he'd sit behind me and wrap his arms around me as he helped me finish the last stitches; he's always wanting to learn something new. After that I sort of lost interest for a while, guess I felt I'd done something I couldn't outdo. About 2 1/2 years into our marriage I started back up again. Now I'm actually selling my work and starting a home business for myself and my mom is still helping me and my husband sporting me. Thank you dear Desmond and mom.

Subject: Clothes 4 Animals

Comment: I had the worst time finding some clothes for animals *including stuffed* and never found the "recipe". It was then I learned that you might have to learn and make something... I made a beautiful shawl and shirt for my stuffed dog and am making a skirt. I can't believe what a bit of trying can make you!

Subject: learning with pictures

Subject: Knitting

Comment: I learned how to knit when I was 10, but never learned what to do with it, so I never made anything. Now that I am in my fifties, I picked up my knitting again. Nearly six years ago I underwent my first major surgery and during the recuperation watched HGTV and DIY where I was inspired to start knitting scarves with the "fun" yarns. I then learned how to make mittens and hats and started searching the internet for instructions and patterns. Eureka!! I found this site, now my favorite go to place for patterns and tutorials. I now make hats, scarves and mittens to donate and sell, as well as give as gifts to my family. It is now "cool" to wear hats that grandma makes, and my grandkids' friends are even putting in their orders for one of a kind hats. If I could only overcome my fear of tackling a swearter project....
