Subject: taking the time to do ur project
Comment: hey yall i started a baby blanket for my cousin almost a week ago. I would most of the time take it with me to school so i could pass the time doing it and most of my teachers didnt mind me doing it. i think that crocheting keeps me from getting bored in class and pass out! ;-) (some of them wants me to make something for them)

Subject: 4-Month project
Comment: I started Crocheting for a project I had to do for school. I didn't like it at first, but when i finished i loved it so i hope i can do much harder projects instead of granny stitch.

Comment: i always wanted to crochet but never had the time to learn. I am now 55 years old and went into the interned and printed instructions on how to. Took some time and lots of patience and now I cannot put it down. I have crocheted wonderful things!

Subject: crochet is cool
Comment: I learned to knit and crochet when I was a girl, but as an adult I got busy with other things. I took crochet up again about three years ago because some of my coworkers were into it. Now my MIL is hooked too. I like the variety that crochet offers. It is such a cool craft, and so easy to make things for family, friends, and charity.

Comment: Hy! I have been crocheting since I was 8 and I will be 15 soon! I LOVE to crochet it is very addicting. I have crocheted tons of smaller items but never a sweater or an afghan. I am also a big knitter. I have knitted a sweater and am working on a vest. I love to crochet, but have found that knitting uses less yarn. I like to do either one.

Comment: I have always admired my Great Grandmother's crochet from a very young age. I have now inherited her Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon Crochet Bedspread...very Beautiful with popcorn stich and Heavy!!and many doileys. After a difficult divorce in 1998 I learned to crochet from a co-worker during breaktimes. It was very difficult at first then it clicked.. I have made hundreds of doileys, some curtains, filet names and a tablecloth!!! Three years ago I met and fell in love with a wonderful man with the last Name of Doyle!! He is currently deployed for a year in Kuaitt. So Guess what I do with my time!!! CROCHET!!! I just finished an absolutely beautiful one for spring with 18 tulips all the way around!! Thanks for Your Site!!

Comment: I am 11 years old and I learned to crochet about a year or two ago. I am addicted! Crocheting is so cool, and you can be really creative. I have made several scarves, hats, doll clothes, and I am working on a lap warmer. I am teaching two of my sisters and some friends this awesome craft. And if you think crocheting is for Grannies, you're wrong!

Subject: Young and Crocheting
Comment: I learned to crochet, like all of the rest on this page, when I was very young, maybe about 4 or 5. I am now 16, and now all of my friends want what I make! My grandmother who helped to teach me, passed away last year, and left me many many many skeins of yarn. I now have almost a closet full of yarn. For this past Christmas, I made all my great-aunts afghans. They nearly cried! I take pride in my skill of knowing how to crochet, and everyone who is interested should learn how.

Subject: crocheting
Comment: I was recently reintroduced to crocheting by a very kind friend at work. I only wish I had started earlier. It is fun, relaxing, and very rewarding. Several ladies at my job are now crocheting again or for the first time. Everybody is excited and so happy to share what they are making. This has been so fullfilling for me.
I am becoming addicted to the craft, but I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.

Comment: I listen to the audio books from the library while crocheting--very relaxing. Two years ago I got grand champion in crocheting at our county fair. I really believe listening to the books helped me relax and keep my stitch count.

Subject: Teaching my Daughters
Comment: I am 35 years old and have 3 daughters I learned how to crochet last year and began teaching my daughters, now we sit and make hats, scarves, afgans and hopefully soon sweaters. My daughters are 16/14/13 I think that everyone should teach their daughters how to do creative things with their hands it keeps them out of trouble

Name: Ginger
Subject: Boys who crochet
Comment: I submitted earlier, mentioning I was going to teach teenagers (boys) to crochet. These kids are in group homes, some are troubled, some had troubled homes. They love to crochet! They go through $50 yarn at least once a month! My boys refuse to read patterns, but create anything once seen, and love huge projects, like blankets with 2-3 strands together. It is wonderful therapy for them, and their enthusiasm is wonderful. I love bringing something to them, a new stitch, new yarn, and I love all the creativity it has sparked in me. Teach someone to crochet, it will be with them forever!
